Some Form of Elvish Email Regex
What can you see? It's some form of Elvish. I can't read it. ^[\w-.]+@([\w-]+\.)+[\w-]{2,4}$
Gandalf asks Frodo what he can see, and Frodo identifies the strange writing as Elvish that he cannot read. The punchline replaces the inscription with a complicated email-validation regular expression, joking that programmers perceive regex as an ancient magical language. It is used as a reaction to confusing code or unreadable technical text.
