Dear Columbia Center for Student Success and Interventions: I wanted to start by commending your university for its outstanding talent pool and dedicated graduates. Columbia Engineering has provided Amazon with a consistent stream of incredible students and candidates, which have allowed Amazon to grow into what it is today. Because of this, I deeply saddened me to have uncovered that a bright candidate who interviewed with me from high talent pool and irreverently cheated through our interview process. Chungin, or Roy as he now refers, recently interviewed for our Amazon SDE intern role in which he proved to be lacking candidate's performance was spectacular, as we have come to expect from Columbia Engineering students, and an offer was extended to Roy recently. Soon after, I received a link to a YouTube video created by Roy in which he showed himself using an invisible cheating tool to gain unfair advantage during interview. During the interview process, I also noticed that something due this message. While this disturbing one, further research showed that Roy is selling this tool to other students and engineers, spreading the to many users. We are more ingenuity and seek to instill changes to long-standing methods and processes to ensure that candidates are not just the recipient of an offer. From our understanding, Roy, yet this message goes beyond just Roy. Amazon has a long tradition of working with Columbia Engineering, including the SURE program, and it deeply concerns us to see sections like this occur. We trust in Columbia to take proper action with regards to this student, and hope to continue this long-standing partnership. Regards, LOL ↑
