Restricted Region Error Popup

Restricted region Based on your system settings, it appears you're located in Russia or Belarus. You cannot use YoutubeDownloader on the territory of a terrorist state. If you believe this to be an error, check your system settings and make sure your region are configured correctly. If you wish to bypass this check, set the environment variable "SLAVA_UKRAINE=1" in your system settings

A Windows desktop shows a YouTubeDownloader error dialog stating that users in Russia or Belarus cannot use the program because they are in the territory of a terrorist state. The joke is the blunt political refusal and the absurdly simple workaround: set the environment variable “SLAVA_UKRAINE=1”. This is shared as a reaction to sanctions, software restrictions, or unexpectedly political error messages.
