Apple App-Le Wordplay Misunderstanding
“Apple” originates from the word “app”. It’s a thing that runs apps, an “app-le”. You’re welcome. I thought “Apple” originated from "Applets", as in Java Applets, as in Java, which runs on 3 billion devices.
A dark-mode social media exchange shows one person joking that Apple comes from “app” because it runs apps. The reply humorously misunderstands this as a reference to Java applets and Java running on billions of devices, creating an overly technical correction to a simple pun.
