2 years out of college, somehow got promoted to Senior Engineer Blasting EDM and cranking out 100k lines of ruby and javascript a day. Shipping more story points than a VP author. VP Engineering “love these young guys. They ship so many features.” Actually Senior Engineer Struggling to keep this tower of shit from completely falling over. Never closes a single user story.
A three-panel comic contrasts a new engineer enthusiastically producing code, a VP Engineering praising feature output, and an actual senior engineer quietly maintaining a fragile system. The joke is that seniority means inheriting and stabilizing a chaotic architecture rather than shipping flashy features, so nothing ever gets marked complete.
