GPT-4 Replaces Software Engineers
CS may not be a great pick. I have a friend with 30 years of software engineering experience who now uses GPT-4 daily and said it's 3x to 10x faster than what he can do himself, at equal or better code quality/readability. He predicts most tech companies will be able to get rid of about 70% of their current Engineering workforces by the end of the year.
A screenshot of a social media post claims that GPT-4 makes an experienced software engineer three to ten times faster and predicts that technology companies will eliminate much of their engineering workforce. The joke is the alarmist, exaggerated reaction to AI replacing programmers, often shared in discussions about automation and job anxiety.
