Google Engineer Dodges Layoffs

Text on the meme

Happy to announce that I was not impacted by the recent Meta layoffs... because I work at Google, a company that would never do this in a million years. #metalayoffs #google #dev

What it means

A social media post from a Google software engineer celebrates avoiding Meta’s layoffs, confidently claiming Google would never do the same. The joke is ironic because Google is also known for conducting layoffs, making the employee’s certainty look foolish. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to hubris and corporate layoffs.
