More Content Belongs to the Dead
Did you know? When a person dies, the information they have shared on the internet may remain there for years. While social networking accounts are often deleted by relatives or inactivity shortly after, other information is left behind indefinitely. Even now there are a massive number of blogs, emails, comments and photographs that belong to the departed. It is easy to imagine that some of these posts will outlast those alive today and go on to become historical artifacts. It is theorized that in the internet's future more content will belong to the dead than the living.
A faux educational fact card explains that internet content can outlive the people who created it. The skull-and-crossbones icon turns the dry observation into dark humor, making it a reaction image about digital permanence, mortality, and the internet eventually being filled with content from dead users.
