thought he'd make it home award

What it means

A distressed hand-drawn face hangs awkwardly from a parachute harness inside a large indoor arena, wearing a military helmet while flailing his hands. The caption humorously presents his failure to get home as if it were an award, making it a reaction meme for situations where someone’s plan has gone badly wrong.
