Sanmar Herald Under Fire

Text on the meme

SANMAR HERALD Crude Oil Tanker Sepah Navy, Sepah Navy. This is Motor Vessel Sanmar Herald. You gave me clearance to go. My name second on your list. You are firing now.

What it means

A MarineTraffic-style map shows the crude oil tanker Sanmar Herald changing course near the Iranian coast while a red track approaches it. The captions turn the ship’s route and apparent targeting into a comedic radio exchange in which the tanker protests that it was cleared to go but is being fired upon. The joke is used as an absurd reaction to being blamed or attacked after following instructions.
