My Future Depends on Me

My future depends on .... ME??????????

A blurry gray cat repeatedly appears to yowl and paw at its face beneath the caption “My future depends on .... ME??????????.” The joke is anxious self-doubt: the cat’s panicked, helpless reaction suggests that being responsible for one’s own future is overwhelming. Aphex Twin’s “QKThr” plays underneath, adding dreamy, melancholic electronic music that makes the absurd cat reaction feel strangely dramatic.
