America Sides With the Allies

Text on the meme

America sides with the Allies •Many Americans felt closer to Britain because of common ancestry •German aggression increased American sympathies for the Allies •America's economic ties to the Allies were much stronger than their ties to the Central Powers SOLDIERS EAT BABIES THAT'S A FACT!

What it means

A classroom presentation explains why America sided with the Allies during World War I, while showing a striking anti-German propaganda poster claiming that soldiers eat babies. The joke comes from the absurdly sensational poster being displayed as historical evidence in an ordinary classroom, making the propaganda look comically extreme.
