Literal NPCs Fear the Doomsday Clock

Watching Redditors freak out over the doomsday clock is absolutely hilarious. “It’s made by Scientists! It’s a SCIENCE CLOCK! If it hits 0 we’re FUCKED!!!” Literal NPCs Holy shit. Is it bot propaganda or simple ignorance? This is the second post I've seen in ten minutes full of shit takes on the doomsday clock. It's a metaphor. It is the opinion of a group of scientists. Their findings is summarized in their press release, which can be cited and criticized. The obvious conclusion is around some like the commenter doesn't understand... anything, really. Knowing multiple people who are on the SSC board that sets this is a wild feeling. They're amazing folks, and growing up I'd never imagined I'd even meet a single one. Watching being a part of my childhood makes it extra surreal. Wow thats pretty humbling is sure! What a hard job to have to look at the statistics and data every day and watch ourselves slip closer and closer to the midnight, the better. Scientific and figurative clock that gets updated annually (if I remember correctly). Essentially, specialists gather to analyze things like efforts against global warming and conflicts around the globe, in order to define how close we are of getting majorly fucked as a race, the further away from midnight, the better. 85 seconds is the closes we ever got to midnight. BREAKING: DOOMSDAY CLOCK NOW SET TO 85 SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT. CLOSEST EVER.

A dark-mode screenshot of a Reddit Lies post mocks Redditors who panic about the Doomsday Clock as if it were a literal countdown to the end of the world. The replies explain that the clock is a symbolic scientific metaphor, while the punchline labels the commenters “Literal NPCs” and highlights their exaggerated fear.
