I HATE STOLEN CARS Beloved Long Island veteran killed by stolen car just moments after visiting granddaughter at school trib.al/6XeOnhh Alleged driver

What it means

A man stands on a city sidewalk holding a sign that says “I HATE STOLEN CARS.” Below, a news screenshot reports that a beloved Long Island veteran was killed by a stolen car, alongside photos of the veteran and the alleged driver. The joke is the darkly ironic contrast between the protest sign and the headline, making the sign seem unintentionally prophetic.
