How I Beat the Starbucks System
We live in a society where people JUDGE you for making your own coffee. In my early career, I went broke buying Starbucks, just for show. But then I had an idea💡 I went onto eBay and purchased 500 used Starbucks cups. Then every morning before work, I’d pour my homemade coffee into a Starbucks cup. And just like that... it worked, and I continued to get the respect I needed. And how did I get out of my debt? I’d also tell my coworkers I was “at Starbucks”, and if they wanted anything they could come by. How have you beaten the system?
A social media post describes buying 500 used Starbucks cups and pouring homemade coffee into them to appear wealthy and respected. The punchline is that the author also pretends to be at Starbucks so coworkers will ask for coffee, turning the fake status display into a way to recover from debt. The image below shows a bed and floor completely covered with disposable coffee cups, exaggerating the absurdity of the scheme.
