Most people think dogs and cats drink water the same way, but they absolutely don't. Dogs use brute force. They curl their tongues like a scoop, slam it into the bowl, and fling water upward so they can gulp huge amounts fast. Which is why they make a mess every single time. Cats do something completely different. When the tip of a cat's tongue touches the water, it never scoops. It snaps back so fast that it pulls the thin column of water straight upward, almost like magic. Then the cat closes its mouth at the tip of the cat's tongue.
