Evangelion Fan Discussion

Evangelion is a 25 year old series that tackles complex themes and ideas pertaining to human emotions and behavior, and the fan discussion of it is somehow infinitely dumber and less mature than the fan discussion of JoJo's, a series about buff dudes named after music references beating each other up. >Rei is love >Rei is light >Rei is life Sure, OP. You cunts have been doing this for twenty years. Twenty years.

A comparison contrasts Evangelion’s complex themes with its immature fan discussions, especially compared with JoJo’s flamboyant fights. A forum user posts simplistic declarations about Rei, prompting another user to point out that fans have been repeating this kind of discussion for twenty years. The joke is the gap between the series’ serious reputation and the childish behavior of its fandom.
