Monkey Thought He Was Getting It

Text on the meme

Bro really thought I was gonna give it to him😭

What it means

A monkey in a forest eagerly reaches toward a yellow fruit snack held by a person, then receives only a small piece and stares at the camera with a deeply disappointed expression. The joke is the monkey’s betrayed, unimpressed reaction to being teased with food, making it a fitting reaction video for false promises or being denied something after getting excited. Jshxwty’s “Running Off” plays underneath, adding a lively electronic/hip-hop beat that contrasts humorously with the monkey’s deadpan disappointment and heightens the punchline.
