They Asked Me to Scan My Feet

Text on the meme

WOW... They asked for... They asked me to sc... um... for reference...

What it means

A video montage cuts between a first-person game view of feet being scanned, a woman and Hideo Kojima hesitating over what to say, and increasingly elaborate images of Kojima, ending on a Times Square-style billboard for his Spotify podcast. The joke is that the repeated, awkwardly interrupted explanation turns an ordinary foot scan into a mysterious Kojima-style conspiracy, while Donna Burke’s dramatic song “Sins of the Father” makes the mundane situation feel absurdly important.
