Scent of Promotion

There was the scent of promotion in our conference room this morning

A conference-room table is shown with a small round object and part of a laptop visible. The joke uses the phrase “scent of promotion” literally, implying that the smell in the room was a sign someone would be promoted. It is a dry workplace reaction to the vague excitement or ambition surrounding an office meeting. EN: A conference-room table is shown with a small round object and part of a laptop visible.
