Christopher Walken's Fake Birthday Trick
How Do You Not Love Christopher Walken THEY ALL SAY THAT IT ONCE A MAKEUP CHAIR AT 6 IT'S MY BIRTHDAY AFTER THAT YOU SAY ONCE RIGHT RIGHT
Christopher Walken sits with Conan O’Brien on a late-night talk show and explains how he pretends to be sad on movie sets so someone asks what is wrong. He then claims it is his birthday and tells them not to tell anyone, prompting a cake, gifts, and champagne; the joke is the absurdly clever one-time birthday scam. People send this as a reaction to a funny, harmless scheme or a mischievous social-engineering trick.
Now you do something we've had a couple of guests on the show who've made movies with you and they've all said this They've I say what's it like working with Christopher walkers? They know I'm a big fan of yours and they all say the same thing they all say that on a movie set Christopher walken likes to say it's his birthday when it's not but is that true. No, it's true You can only do once a movie Yeah, probably What do you do? How do you do it a lot of movies? But at some point usually, you know, you get up early and you're in the makeup chair at six in the morning and I pretend that I'm sad. Sooner or later somebody says, Chris, what's wrong? You look a little sad. And I say, well, it's my birthday and I'm going to, you know, I'm going to have a birthday. But the key thing is to say after that, you say, make sure you don't tell anyone. And so then what happens? Then around lunchtime, they have a cake. Maybe some gifts. A little champagne. This is genius. But you can only do that once. Right, right.
