Celebrating Then Regretting the Job

Me celebrating after landing a job Me one week in the job

A group of uniformed young men exuberantly celebrate after one of them lands a job, laughing, shouting, clapping and jostling together. The clip then cuts to the same worker one week later as a grim, exhausted-looking soldier standing in formation, creating a dark contrast between initial excitement and immediate workplace misery. Sylvie Vartan’s “La Maritza” plays over the montage, giving the celebration a dramatic, bittersweet and ironically theatrical mood that makes the joke work as a reaction to regretting a new job.
