Terrain Masking Headshot
THE ANDS BE HAHAHA BREAKAWAY
An older gamer wearing headphones explains military “terrain masking” while gameplay from Breakaway shows snowy maps, tactical overlays, and a sniper scope. He says that anything silhouetted against the sky becomes an obvious target, then the gameplay immediately demonstrates the joke by shooting exposed heads and elevated targets, making him laugh. The clip is used as a reaction to someone foolishly revealing themselves or taking the high ground without cover. The audio features glwzbll’s “Untitled #13 (Super Slowed),” whose dark, heavily slowed mood makes the tactical explanation and sudden kills feel absurdly dramatic.
The military refers it as terrain masking. High ground isn't always the answer. If you're on high ground and I can see you, you're gonna get hit. No ifs, ands, or buts. The problem with high ground is if it's night, you're okay. But if it's daytime, you're gonna be unmasked and silhouetted against the background sky. In other words, if I'm looking across the roof line and the roof line's got a little bump in it, guess what? But that bump's about to explode because it's your head. See ya!
