Beautiful Things Not on the List

- something that was not on the list of things that were allowed to be described as ‘beautiful,’ not that any of us would use a word like ‘beautiful’ anyway.

A four-panel illustrated collage shows a butterfly, a sunset, a couple on a red carpet beneath stars, and blooming roses. The captions jokingly suggest that even though these things were forbidden from being called “beautiful,” nobody would use that word anyway, creating an ironic and overly formal reaction to obvious beauty.
