Rifle Fails to Fire

I know a guy who tried to shoot himself with one in Deepcut Barracks years ago, the weapon didn't fire and he had to spend the rest of night on guard duty knowing his rifle didn't work and he couldn't report the fault...

A man presents a rifle at a military technology display while a comment describes someone attempting suicide with the same kind of weapon, only for it to fail and force him to remain on guard duty. The dark punchline is that he could not report the rifle malfunction without explaining why he had tried to shoot himself.
