Neo's Passport Expires on 9/11

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Type/Code P ANDERSON THOMAS A. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 13 SEP/SEP 71 M CAPITAL CITY USA 12 SEP/SEP 01 11 SEP/SEP 01 PASSPORT AGENCY CAPITAL CITY

A passport-style image from The Matrix shows Neo, identified as Thomas Anderson, with a birth date of 13 September 1971 and an expiration date of 11 September 2001. The joke is that Neo’s fictional passport expires on the exact date of the 9/11 attacks, making it an unsettling and absurd coincidence used as a conspiracy-style reaction meme.
