I have been proud to call City 17 my home. And so, whether you are here to stay, or passing through, on your way to parts unknown, Don't move. You, Citizen! Come with me. Welcome to City 17 What's the meaning of this? HλLF-LIFE² VALVE

A dark, low-resolution Half-Life 2 gameplay clip shows the player moving through City 17 while masked Combine Civil Protection officers approach and address them as a citizen. The joke comes from treating an authoritarian arrest in City 17 like a grand, confusing welcome ceremony, with dramatic spoken dialogue and ominous music amplifying the absurdity.
