Everything Is Going to Be Alright

Text on the meme

My favorite conspiracy theory is that everything is going to be alright...

What it means

A looping, grainy video shows a shirtless bearded man sitting behind someone holding a dark bottle, with a large translucent smiling face overlaid in the background. The caption calls the belief that everything will be alright a “conspiracy theory,” making sincere optimism feel absurdly suspicious. Dido’s “Thank You” plays in a gentle, melancholic pop/trip-hop style, with rain-like sounds that heighten the bittersweet, ironic comfort of the joke.
