All He Wanted Was a Handshake

Text on the meme

All he wanted was a handshake 🤝 😔

What it means

A video montage shows Vladimir Putin repeatedly approaching or reaching toward people at formal events, including chefs, officials, and other dignitaries, apparently hoping for a handshake. Each moment cuts away before the greeting happens, ending on Putin looking disappointed and lonely. The melodramatic instrumental music turns the simple missed handshake into an exaggerated, bittersweet joke about being ignored.
