Self Checkout Asks for a Tip
Makes no sense Would you like to leave a tip? $ No Tip 15.00% 18.00% 20.00% $0.49 $0.59 $0.66 Continue to Payment
A shopper moves through a grocery store, scans and checks out their own items at a self-checkout, then is shown a screen asking for a tip. The joke is that there is no obvious service worker to tip when the customer did all the work themselves, making the request feel absurd. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to unnecessary tipping prompts and tip culture.
Yo, check this out. You grab your food yourself. You scan it yourself. You check out yourself and it asks if you wanna leave a tip. Who am I tipping, myself?
