Kids at a Public Execution

Text on the meme

Kids in 1760s when their parents came home with tickets to a public execution

What it means

The clip shows Cristiano Ronaldo celebrating exuberantly on a football pitch while a referee stands nearby. The caption jokingly imagines children in the 1760s reacting to tickets for a public execution as if they had received exciting entertainment news. Coldplay’s triumphant song “Viva La Vida” heightens the absurd contrast between historical brutality and Ronaldo’s ecstatic celebration.
