Men Missing Silly Little Patrols

Text on the meme

Men when they can’t go on silly little patrols to close with and destroy the enemy by means of fire and movement

What it means

A crude, chaotic battlefield sketch shows several figures and explosions surrounding a central caption about men being unable to conduct small patrols and destroy the enemy through fire and movement. The joke affectionately mocks military enthusiasm for aggressive infantry tactics, used as a reaction to feeling deprived of action or adventure.
