Accidentally Autistic Protagonists

Text on the meme

game writers trying to make a badass stoic protagonist but accidentally making him autistic is my favorite phenomenon

What it means

A tweet is shown above a four-panel collage of stoic male video game protagonists: Sam Fisher, Solid Snake, Gordon Freeman, and Kazuma Kiryu. The joke is that writers intend to create cool, emotionless action heroes, but their extreme silence, routines, social awkwardness, and intense focus can read as autistic traits. It is shared as a humorous observation about character writing and neurodivergent interpretations of game protagonists.
