Five Years of Dead Games

Text on the meme

>CoD dead >Battlefield dead >Halo dead >Destiny dead >All within the span of a less than five years

What it means

A close-up of a tired-looking soldier appears above an anonymous forum post listing major shooter game franchises as “dead”: Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, and Destiny. The joke exaggerates the decline of popular games and the feeling that the golden age of multiplayer shooters ended within only a few years. It is used as a reaction to gaming nostalgia, franchise decline, or the death of an online community.
