Watching the World Cup

Text on the meme

Russia Mongolia China Japan Korea Philippines Malaysia Papua New Guinea Australia New Zealand Watching the World Cup

What it means

A white mug printed with a map of Asia and Oceania sits on a table, with the caption “Watching the World Cup.” The joke is that the mug’s map represents someone watching the tournament from a very broad, geographically detached perspective; it is used as an absurd reaction to sports fandom and international competitions.
