Catcher in the Rye Kills Lennon

Kill John Lennon Wow! Growing up sure is tough! the CATCHER in the RYE a novel by J.D. SALINGER

A minimalist cartoon shows a Pac-Man-like figure saying “Wow! Growing up sure is tough!” while arrows connect the book The Catcher in the Rye to the instruction “Kill John Lennon.” The joke references Mark David Chapman, who carried the novel when he murdered John Lennon, turning a coming-of-age book into a darkly literal reaction to growing up.
