Hobbits then Hobbits now

What it means

The meme contrasts the heroic, clean-looking hobbits from The Lord of the Rings with a muddy, disheveled hobbit-looking woman. The joke exaggerates how hobbits are imagined in fantasy versus how they might look after living outdoors and going through hardship.
