Men Whole Day, Men at Night

MEN WHOLE DAY MEN AT NIGHT

What it means

A split-screen video contrasts the cheerful, composed Team Fortress 2 Medic going about his day—smiling, drinking from a mug, and standing outside—with increasingly moody and introspective anime-style nighttime scenes on the right. The joke is that men may look normal and upbeat during the day but become emotionally dramatic, lonely, or mysterious at night; Metric’s dreamy indie-rock song “Lost Kitten” heightens the melancholy contrast and makes the reaction feel deliberately cinematic.
