Year 22 Was 2000 Years Ago
«Year 22 was 2000 years ago»
A sharply dressed Patrick Bateman turns his head in a crowded upscale room, slowly facing the camera with an intense, emotionless stare. The caption jokes that being 22 feels impossibly ancient, while the dramatic close-up and Mareux’s dark synthpop song “The Perfect Girl” make the exaggeration feel ominous and absurd. It works as a reaction to feeling old, exhausted, or disconnected from modern life.
