Countries Represented by Food and Disasters

South Korean broadcaster MBC used images to "represent" each country during the #Tokyo2020 🏃 Opening Ceremony. Italy: pizza Norway: salmon Haiti: upheaval Ukraine: Chornobyl

A screenshot of a tweet showing examples of images used to represent countries during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic opening ceremony: pizza for Italy, salmon for Norway, upheaval for Haiti, and Chornobyl for Ukraine. The joke is that the broadcast reduces entire countries to simplistic or insensitive stereotypes, with the Haiti and Ukraine examples becoming especially dark and absurd as a reaction meme.
