Cat Collects the Sonic Ring

SCORE 0 TIME 0:00 RINGS 0 TIME 0:01 TIME 0:03 SCORE 100 TIME 0:04 TIME 0:06 RINGS 1

An orange-and-white cat cautiously approaches a glowing Sonic ring on a bathroom mat, then suddenly pounces and runs off with it. The Sonic HUD updates from score 0 and rings 0 to score 100 and rings 1, turning the cat’s ordinary movement into a dramatic video-game achievement. SEGA — “STH3 Angel Island Act 2” plays in the background, giving the clip energetic retro game music and making the tiny pounce feel like an epic level victory. It works as a reaction meme for finally accomplishing a small or absurd goal.
