A video shows Pedro Pascal laughing uncontrollably beneath a chart of increasingly numerous gender symbols and labels. He starts by laughing at the simple “Female” and “Male” symbols, then becomes overwhelmed and covers his face as the chart expands into many gender identities. The joke is a reaction to the perceived complexity or abundance of the labels, with the melancholy dream-pop song “Space Song” by Beach House making his exaggerated laughter feel dramatically bittersweet.
