The Barnacle on the Ceiling
Alyx Vance: "Whoa, Gordon! That was close! That zombie almost cut my life in half... 2 times!" The barnacle on the ceiling:
A cat clings to the underside of a ceiling-mounted surface, posed like a barnacle waiting to grab someone. The joke references Alyx Vance and Gordon Freeman from Half-Life and treats the cat as the dangerous ceiling creature from the game. It is sent as an absurd reaction to something unexpectedly lurking overhead or ready to attack.
