Poland Is Not Named After Po
Quick Geography Facts #2 Despite popular belief, the country Poland is not named after Po
A red Teletubby stands beside a map of Poland, colored white and red like the Polish flag. The joke falsely claims that Poland is named after Po, turning a simple geography fact into an absurd pun. It is used as a silly reaction to confidently stated misinformation or a deliberately bad fact.
