The Great Depression Soup Line
THE GREAT DEPRESSION? FREE SOUP WHAT THE HELL IS SO GREAT ABOUT IT? PARKING 25
A Doge wearing a flat cap looks skeptically at a long line of people waiting for free soup during the Great Depression. The joke is that the phrase “The Great Depression” sounds like something positive, so Doge sarcastically asks what is supposed to be great about poverty and suffering. It is used as a reaction to optimism or praise about a clearly terrible situation.
