When You’re Alone Every Day

ZAP

A young woman sits in front of a man who playfully styles her hair, puts sunglasses on both of them, and hugs her from behind before the scene cuts to a silly, low-quality party-style shot. The clip uses Simple Plan’s “I’m Just a Kid,” especially the lonely lyric, to humorously frame an ordinary awkward moment as exaggerated teenage isolation and companionship. It works as a reaction meme for feeling alone, socially awkward, or dramatically overidentifying with a sad song.
