Dad’s Gay Pun

Text on the meme

Mom and daughter. Mom, I’m lesbian. It’s okay honey. Dad and son. Dad, I’m Gay Hi Gay, I’m dad

What it means

The meme contrasts a mother warmly accepting her daughter’s coming-out and a father responding to his son’s coming-out with a literal dad joke based on the word “gay.” The punchline is the stereotypical cheesy “Hi [name], I’m dad” pun, making the father’s reaction awkward and absurd.
