Ukrainian Guy Reacts to Communism

Text on the meme

Edgy American teen saying that communism is great The Ukrainian guy who watched his grandfather starve to death

What it means

An edgy young American wearing headphones says that communism is great, while a Ukrainian man beside him gives an uncomfortable, pained reaction. The joke contrasts youthful political posturing with the Ukrainian man’s family history of suffering and starvation under communist rule, making the reaction useful for mocking naive praise of communism.
