Text on the meme

“This movie is based on a true story” Also movie: JOM and TERRY

What it means

The meme contrasts the serious disclaimer “This movie is based on a true story” with a chaotic Tom and Jerry-style cartoon title card, humorously implying that even absurd animated slapstick is based on real events. It is used as a reaction to ridiculous stories or situations that are presented as somehow true.
