I'm Not Crying, My Eyes Are Swimming

i'm not crying my eyes are SWIMMING

A distorted, brightly colored cartoon face grins widely while the caption says, “i'm not crying, my eyes are SWIMMING.” The joke is a sarcastic denial of being emotional, implying the person is obviously crying but gives an absurd excuse instead. It is used as a reaction to overwhelming sadness, embarrassment, or laughter.
